9. 104 Against South Africa (21/11/2014)

Steve Smith played one of his best One Day International innings on 21st November 2014 against South Africa in Melbourne (MCG). The Australian cricket team managed to restrict South Africa to a score of just 267 runs. While everyone expected Australia to chase this score down easily, they lost the wickets of Aaron Finch, David Warner, and Shane Watson cheaply. However, Steve Smith stood strong and scored 104 runs in 112 balls at a strike rate of 92.9 to help Australia chase the score down in the 49th over and win the game by three wickets with just six balls to spare.

9. 104 Against India (29/11/2020)

The Australian star put in another master performance on 29th November 2020, this time against the Indian cricket team. Australia batted first, and Steve Smith ended up being their top scorer, making 104 runs in 64 balls at an impressive strike rate of 162.5 to help the Australian cricket team set a mammoth target of 390 runs for the Indian cricket team to try and chase down. India made a valiant effort to try to chase this score down, with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul putting in impressive performances. However, they only managed to score 338 runs in 50 overs, and Australia ended up winning the game by a margin of 51 runs.

The Australian star ended up scoring 105 runs in 93 balls at a strike rate of 112.9 to help propel the Australian cricket team to a total of 328 runs in 50 overs. India tried their best to chase this score down and win the game, but Australia bowled very well and managed to bowl out the Indian cricket team for just 233 runs. Australia ended up winning the game by a margin of 95 runs.

6. 105 Against India (27/11/2020)

Steve Smith had another masterclass against the Indian cricket team, this one coming on 27th November 2020 in Sydney (SCG). Australia batted first, and all of their top three batsmen, David Warner, Aaron Finch, and Steve Smith, put in good performances. Smith scored 105 runs in 66 balls at a strike rate of 159.1. His performance helped Australia reach a target of 375 for the Indian cricket team. While the Indian team made a good effort, especially Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya, Australia ended up restricting them to just 308 runs in 50 overs, and Australia won the game by a margin of 66 runs.

6. 105 Against New Zealand (11/09/2022)

Steve Smith scored a brilliant century against New Zealand on 11th September 2022 in Cairns, a city in Australia. Australia batted first, and while Josh Inglis and Aaron Finch lost their wickets very early, Steve Smith stepped in and rose to the occasion. He formed a formidable partnership with Marnus Labuschagne and ended up scoring 105 runs in 131 balls at a strike rate of 80.2 to guide the Australian team to a total of 267. While this target was not a big one, Australia bowled very well and managed to bowl out Australia for just 242 runs and ended up winning the game by a margin of 25 runs.

4. 108 Against South Africa (05/10/2016)

Australian stars David Warner and Steve Smith both managed to score centuries against the South Africa cricket team on 5th October 2016 in Durban. Smith came in at three after Imran Tahir picked up the wicket of Aaron Finch. He ended up scoring 108 runs in 107 balls at a strike rate of 100.9 to help Australia set a formidable total of 371 on the board. While this was a very high total, the pitch was equally good, and South Africa ended up taking advantage of this pitch. Brilliant performances by Quinton de Kock and David Miller saw South Africa chase the score down in 49.2 overs and win the game by four wickets with four balls to spare.

4. 108 Against Pakistan (19/01/2017)

The Australian star scored a century against Pakistan on 19th January 2023 to help guide his team to victory. Pakistan batted first, but Australia managed to restrict them to just 263 runs in 50 overs. While Usman Khawaja lost his wicket early and David Warner did not do particularly well, Steve Smith managed to steady the ship and guide Australia home. He scored 108 runs in 104 balls at a strike rate of 103.8 without losing his wicket to help Australia comfortably chase the total down in just 45 overs and win the match against the Pakistan cricket team with seven wickets in hand and 30 balls to spare.

3. 131 Against India (19/01/2020)

One of Steve Smith’s ODI centuries in a losing cause came against the Indian cricket team on 19th January 2020 in Bangalore. Australia batted first, and while David Warner and Aaron Finch both lost their wickets early, Steve Smith managed to act as Australia’s rock and played a very good inning. He scored 131 runs in 132 balls at a strike rate of 99.2 to help the Australian team reach a respectable total of 286. However, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer put in very good performances to help India chase this score down in just 47.3 overs and win the game by seven wickets with 15 balls to spare.

2. 149 Against India (12/01/2016)

The Australian team managed to complete a brilliant chase against the Indian cricket team on 12th January 2016, thanks to the centuries scored by Steve Smith and George Bailey. India batted first, and Rohit Sharma went rogue and scored 171 runs without losing his wicket. This helped India set a target of 310 for Australia to try and chase down. While Bailey scored a century, Smith ended up being the standout player during the chase. While Aaron Finch and David Warner lost their wickets cheaply, Smith scored 149 runs in 135 balls at a strike rate of 110.4 to help Australia chase the score down in 49.2 overs and win the game.
