Shikhar Dhawan scored one of his highest-ever scores in the Indian Premier League on 10th April 2021 against the Chennai Super Kings. CSK batted first and managed to score 188 runs in 20 overs, setting a tough target for Delhi Capitals to chase. However, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw came out swinging, with Dhawan making 85 runs in 54 balls at a strike rate of 157.4 to help DC chase the target down in just 18.4 overs.

Shikhar Dhawan put in another brilliant performance in the game between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals on 5th April 2023. PBKS batted first, and Dhawan put on a brilliant show as an opener. Shikhar Dhawan played a brilliant inning in the Indian Premier League against the Chennai Super Kings on 25th April 2022. PBKS batted first, and while Mayank Agarwal struggled to get going, Shikhar Dhawan put on an outstanding show. Dhawan scored 88 runs in 59 balls at a strike rate of 149.2 without losing his wicket to help PBKS set a target of 188 for CSK to chase down. CSK started the chase very poorly, and while Ambati Rayudu gave them a scare towards the end, PBKS managed to restrict CSK to 176 and won the game by 11 runs.

Shikhar Dhawan, however, was not ready to give in and came out swinging. Shikhar Dhawan’s performance on 21st May 2011 helped the Deccan Chargers absolutely dominate the Kings XI Punjab. DC batted first, and Dhawan scored 95 runs in 57 balls at a strike rate of 166.7 without losing his wicket. This helped his team set a target of 199 for KXIP to chase down. The pressure of such a high target got to Kings XI Punjab, and despite the efforts of Adam Gilchrist, the rest of the team ended up collapsing, and the Deccan Chargers were able to bowl them out for just 116.

Shikhar Dhawan just missed out on his third IPL hundred against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on 9th April 2023. PBKS batted first, and Dhawan found himself on 91 with one over to go. He faced all six balls in the final over but could only manage to score eight runs, ending his inning having scored 99 runs in 66 balls at a strike rate of 150. However, no one else ended up performing, and PBKS could only manage to set a target of 144. SRH chased this down very easily in just 17.1 overs and won the game by eight wickets with 17 balls remaining.

Shikhar Dhawan scored his first IPL century on 17th October 2020 in a game between the Delhi Capitals and the Chennai Super Kings. He has scored only two centuries in IPL, and they came in consecutive games, making him the first player to achieve this feat. DC batted first, and Dhawan made 106 runs in 61 balls at a strike rate of 173.8 without losing his wicket. However, despite this inning, Delhi could only set a target of 165 for KXIP to chase. While the Kings XI Punjab had an early scare, they managed to pull off the chase in 19 overs, winning the game by five wickets with six balls in hand.
