Sanju Samson’s Knock Breaks The Internet

Sanju Samson has been trending all over Twitter with the wicketkeeper currently leading India A in a three-match ODI series against New Zealand A in in Chennai. After drawing out the first 2 unofficial test matches, India A went on to win the last game to emerge victorious in the Test series. Later, they have gone to white wash the Kiwis to register a 3-0 win in the ODI series.

Samson has been in the news for his fantastic batting performances in the last few months. Captaining Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), He played an instrumental role in leading the side to the finals, only to lose the 2022 edition of the tournament to Gujarat Titans.

His performances with bat earned him a national team call up against Ireland, where he again impressed the fans as well as the selectors. Currently selected to captain India A in the ongoing ODI series against New Zealand A, Samson has continued to shine with the bat. He ends the the One Day series as the leading run getter having registered scores of  29*(32), 37(35) & 54(68) against New Zealand A.

Samson’s craze is not just due to his recent form in the southern part of India. Recently, the Rohit Sharma led Men in Blue landed in Thiruvananthapuram ahead of their three-match T20I series against South Africa. Fans had turned up in large numbers and were heard chanting Sanju Samson’s name. The 27 year old is considered to be a local hero and fan favorite having played domestic cricket for Kerala.

Indian middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav was later seen showing Samson’s picture on his phone to the fans that had surrounded the bus and then gave a thumbs up while pointing at the picture. Just like Suryakumar, a lot of Indian cricketers were amused by the fanbase Sanju Samson has in Kerala. Fans who came to the airport to greet the team continued to give the Men in Blue a rousing reception with their actions grabbing a lot of eyeballs on social media.
