Another big name to go unsold in the auction was South African star, Temba Bavuma.
The West Indian batsman had a base price of R 1.5 Million and went unsold.

MI Cape Town participated in a bidding war against Pretoria Capitals before finally purchasing the player for R 4.3 Million.
A maximum of 19 players can be selected in the SA20 2025 auction. These are the maxium slots available for the six teams. Six of these will be Rookie players, which is a compulsory pick introduced from this year. Team by team breakdown of remaining slots is:
The SA20 auction is scheduled to take place on 1st October 2024, in Cape Town. Player registration for the auction ended on 6th September, and the final players list has been finalised. The auction will start at 20:00 Indian Standard Time (IST).
The SA20 auction will be shown live on SuperSport in South Africa. However, the live stream will also be available globally on the SA20 Official YouTube Channel. All Teams are required to have a squad consisting of a minimum of ten South African players, a maximum of seven foreigners, and an additional new Rookie player who must be South African. These are the requirements of the 19-player squad for the SA20 auction.
