Romelu Lukaku is a Belgian professional footballer who currently plays for Serie A side Napoli. The forward has developed into a fantastic striker for both his club and country and has been a brilliant asset for all the clubs he has played for over the years. He is also the top scorer of the Belgian national team, and he is so by a huge distance, which shows just how good a striker he is. This article talks about Romelu Lukaku’s net worth and the salary he earns while playing for Napoli.
Romelu Lukaku’s professional career started when he joined the youth academy of Rupel Boom in 1999 at the age of five. After four seasons at Rupel Boom, Lukaku had a short stint with KFC Wintam. He was soon discovered by scouts of Lierse, a Belgian Pro League club with an established youth academy. After Lierse were relegated from the Belgian Pro League, Anderlecht purchased 13 youth players from Lierse, including Lukaku.
It was at Anderlecht where the Belgian striker got the chance to make his senior debut. He played for the youth academy for multiple seasons before being promoted to the first team in 2009. The Belgian club was impressed with the first team, arousing the interest of the English Premier League side, Chelsea. Lukaku joined Chelsea in August 2011 and made his debut at Stamford Bridge against Norwich City. The striker was sent out on back-to-back loan deals, first to West Bromwich Albion in the 2012/13 season and to Everton in the 2013/14 season.

Romelu Lukaku played unbelievably well at Everton, and the club decided to make his loan move permanent. The Belgian striker signed a five-year contract with Everton in July 2014 for a then-club record fee. Lukaku repaid his faith in the club by transforming into a goalscoring machine. He made 166 appearances for them across all competitions and scored 87 goals. Manchester United were very impressed by his performances in the Premier League and decided to splurge to sign the star striker.

Lukaku did decently well at the club in the two seasons he represented them, but he could not live up to the expectations of Manchester United fans, and he ended up being sold to Inter Milan in 2019. After two seasons with the Serie A side, it was Chelsea who decided to bring him back to the Premier League. However, after just one season with the club, he returned to Inter Milan on loan for the 2022/23 season. This was followed by a loan to AS Roma for the 2023/24 season, after which Chelsea decided it was time to sell him on a permanent basis.
Romelu Lukaku transferred to Serie A side Napoli on 29th August 2024 and scored on his debut for the club a few days later. While the striker has not done exceptionally well in domestic tournaments, no one can deny that he is a brilliant striker with fantastic goalscoring abilities. The player has signed a contract with Napoli and hopes he can help them win some trophies. These professional contracts are Lukaku’s primary source of income and have helped him develop a net worth of approximately $20 Million.

Romelu Lukaku signed a three-year contract with Napoli on 29th August 2024, which will keep him at the club till the summer of 2027. The Italian club decided to make the talented striker the club’s highest-paid player to lure him into signing a contract. This contract sees the Belgian forward earn around $8.3 Million per year, which roughly translates to around $160,000 per week, which will surely help him boost his net worth in the future.
While Lukaku’s stay at most clubs has been short-lived, and he has been unable to build a legacy at just one club since leaving Everton, the Belgian striker will hope he can do so with Napoli and go on to win multiple titles with them. He has linked up with Antonio Conte for the 2024/25 season and has started his career at the club well. He will hope to continue scoring goals for Napoli and convince the fans that he is worth every penny they pay.
