Rohit Sharma’s Slang Raises Questions About His Team’s Leadership: There is a video circulating on Twitter that appears to show Indian skipper Rohit Sharma using foul language towards his teammates in an effort to secure an Australian wicket.

Sharma, who was dropped from his 50th Test match in 2018, made a successful comeback as an opener in 2019 and is currently leading in the World Test Championship (WTC) final in 2023. A memorable voyage for Hitman, but if he is finding pleasure in abusing his teammate, it is tragic.

SHARMA’S CAPTAINCY IN QUESTION

There are concerns being raised about his leadership skills due to the decision made by him and India’s bowling coach Paras Mhambrey to include an additional seamer bowler instead of Ravichandran Ashwin. In light of these developments, it would have been beneficial for the captain to provide some form of encouragement to his team. 

After viewing the proceedings on Day 1 at The Oval, Bollywood actor Harsh Vardhan Kapoor, son of veteran superstar Anil Kapoor, too expressed his displeasure. The Bollywood star stated that the absence of Virat Kohli as Test captain is a horrible tragedy. Harsh Vardhan questioned the lack of enthusiasm among Indian players on the pitch, as well as poor selection and the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.

CONCLUSION

In order to minimise the controversy surrounding his behaviour, it would be wise for him to devise a thoughtful plan for Team India’s comeback. The situation can only be resolved if India is able to limit the Australian team to under 450 runs and then put up a strong fight against the Aussies.

For this, India must win the morning session of Day 2 by collecting wickets in groups and making the most of the second new ball.
