Rohit Sharma Said THIS On Jasprit Bumrah’s Return To Indian Team

Japsrit Bumrah is all set to rejoin the Indian national team following a long injury lay off which ruled him out from participating in Asia Cup 2022. The 28-year-old did not feature in the 6 nation tournament with the team feeling the effects of his absence especially in the Super 4 stages when they lost to Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has also gone on to claim that the talismanic pacer’s unavailability heavily hurt the Men in Blue.

Speaking on Bumrah’s comeback, Rohit Sharma went on to state how the speedster is an integral cog of the national team setup. The Indian skipper interacted with the media during a press conference and said, “Bumrah is a very important player. The way he has performed over the last few years has been fantastic.“

“He is an attacking bowler and if such a bowler isn’t a part of the team, it doesn’t go well for the team. Good to have Bumrah back and I hope he stays fit and bowls as fast as he can, which he normally does,” Rohit Sharma added.

The 35-year-old also went on to share his thoughts on Arshdeep Singh when he was asked to comment on the pacer. Speaking about the left arm bowler, the Indian skipper said, “The way Arshdeep bowled was very impressive. The way he landed yorkers under extreme pressure in his first year of international cricket, is not easy. “

“He is a very smart guy and keeps things simple. We needed a left-arm seamer and he has done well in IPL and then he came here (into the India team) and has done well.We always wanted variety in our attack and we have that now,” Rohit Sharma added.

Jasprit Bumrahs’ last appearance for Team India came during their tour to England where they registered series wins in both the white ball formats. Later, he was rested from the Men in Blue squad for the upcoming tours to West Indies and Zimbabwe tour, before he suffered a back injury.

The Mumbai Indians speedster is all set to make a comeback and feature for India once again when they square off  against Australia  in the 3 match T20I series. The first game of the upcoming tour is scheduled to be played at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on Tuesday. His performances will be clinical for India as they aim to prepare for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup which will take place in Australia.
