Indian skipper Rohit Sharma spoke on the team’s ability to adopt a different mindset after India’s poor outing in ICC T20 World Cup last year. Since then, the Men in Blue have gone on to boost an excellent record in T20Is and remain undefeated in every series they played under the current captain.
India’s latest assignment came against the West Indies which saw the Men in Blue register a 4-1 win in the 5-match T20I series last week. They came out with a dominating performance with the visitors adopting a specific strategy of attacking opposition bowlers throughout the series.
Speaking about the team’s approach and talks they conduct inside the dressing room, Rohit Sharma shared how he is happy with how things are at the moment. The 35-year-old interacted with the media after India’s win in the last T200I and was quoted saying, “We have talked many times about what we wanted to do, how we wanted to play. It is one thing talking about it and it is another to go out there and doing it. I felt everyone was trying to do that, in that, most of us actually went and did that. That to me was very pleasing.”
“Not just me and him (Dravid) are talking, we all are doing that. Firstly, I want to appreciate everyone buying into the thought and then going out there and doing it. It takes a lot, it is not easy, we have tried it and we have succeeded in most occasions, which is a good thing,” Rohit Sharma added.

The Indian team captain went on to share how he feels it is important for him to make sure the process continues as the skipper of the team. The 35-year-old also added that the Men in Blue will be focused on staying on top in the little moments of the game.
“That is what I wanted to address as captain, to the group because it was one important thing that we wanted to achieve and we have pretty much achieved it but it does not mean it is the end of the road for us. Lot to play for and we will continue to keep topping up those little aspects of the game and again, just wanted to appreciate, it takes a lot to change your game, it takes a lot to get into different mindset. For me individual brilliance is good, but those little, little efforts from us is what will give us more results consistently and that is what we are looking for,” Rohit Sharma added.
