Rilee Rossouw has kicked off his campaign in the ICC T20 World Cup with a bang, scoring the first century in the ongoing competition, which is being played in Australia. The 33-year-old breached the three-figure mark off just 52 balls to help his team get over and put up a solid score of at in the first innings.

His stay on the crease was ended by Shakib al Hasan, who dismissed the SA star in the 19th over. However, the damage was already done. Rossouw’s 109 off 56 balls propelled the Proteas to put up a total in excess of 200 in the first innings.

He is the first player in history from full-member teams to score back-to-back centuries in two consecutive t20 matches. Rilee Rossouw first scored his century against India in his previous outing before his 100 against Bangladesh in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. Rilee Rossouw also stitched up a massive 150+ partnership with Quinton De Kock, who also managed to get his 50 in this game against their Asian counterparts. However, the former SA star is dismissed after scoring 63 off 39 balls, breaking up the 168-run partnership off just 85 balls. Rilee Rossouw is also the first South African star to score a century in the T20 World Cup.
