Ravichandran Ashwin ABUSED Dinesh Karthik On His Dismissal; WTF!

Ravichandran Ashwin played a crucial role for the Men in Blue as India registered an emphatic win over Pakistan in their tournament opener of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. While Virat Kohli stole the show with his majestic innings, it was the veteran spinner who scored the winning runs to seal the deal for Rohit Sharma’s men on Sunday.

The 36-year-old had a major impact with the ball in the first innings, with Ravichandran Ashwin conceding just 23 runs off his three overs. However, his impact on the game with the bat was more crucial, citing the situation as he made a match-winning contribution.

Walking out to bat when India needed two runs off the final ball, Ravichandran Ashwin showed why his batting was a major asset for the Indian cricket team. The spinner managed to guess Pakistan left-arm spinner’s Mohammad Nawaz delivery well and left the ball with great presence of mind to collect a wide under extreme pressure.

Ravichandran Ashwin speaks on the incident 

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ravichandran Ashwin was quoted saying, ‘I was relaxed after the wide. The moment I saw the ball going down the leg side, I decided not to have any business playing it and decided to leave it alone and got one run for the wide. As soon as I got that run, I was so relaxed.”

The Indian spinner also went on to reveal how he cursed Dinesh Karthik for getting out at a crucial time and putting him in the situation which required India to score two runs off the last ball. Ravichandran Ashwin also claimed that despite Karthik’s wicket, he was optimistic about a win.

The veteran off-spinner is quoted saying, “As I walked in to bat, I cursed Dinesh Karthik for a second and then later thought, ‘No no, we still have time, let us do what we were here for’. It seemed like I was walking for ages to get to the pitch.”
