Rahul Dravid has dropped hints on the Men in Blues’ potential playing XI for the highly anticipated semi final against England in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The Indian cricket team head coach revealed how the team might make changes in the line up for the upcoming clash.
The Rohit Sharma led team made it to the semi finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday after they recorded a massive 71-run victory over Zimbabwe in their final Super 12 game. India managed to top their group and advance to a semi-final, locking up a matchup against England in Adelaide.
Jos Buttler’s men will lock horns against the Men in Blue on Thursday in the second semifinal, with Rahul Dravid dropping hints on India’s playing XI for the game. The former cricketer clarified that the playing combination could be changed after learning more on the conditions at the Adelaide Oval and making the best use of the circumstances.
Speaking about the playing 11, the Indian head coach was quoted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) saying, “I think we have a completely open mind about everyone in our 15. Anybody that we need to pick will actually not make us a weaker squad. Again, we’ll have to go there and see.”
He went on to share how India’s lineup game will be based on the conditions as well as how the pitch looks on matchday. He said, “I watched some of the games and I know the tracks were slow. They gripped and they turned a bit. “

“If it’s slow we’ll play according to those situations. “We’ll have a couple of days; we’ll go and have a look at that wicket and see what we think it might do, ”Rahul Dravid added.
The Indian cricket team played their Super 12 stage clash against Bangladesh in Adelaide. Citing the conditions and the team composition, it would be fair to assume that Rahul Dravid and the team management will look to rope in Dinesh Karthik back in the playing XI.
The veteran wicketkeeper is expected to replace Rishabh Pant for the semi final at the Adelaide Oval against England. With the Adelaide Oval likely to provide some assistance to the spinners, Yuzvendra Chahal could also play his first game of the ICC T20 World Cup.
