India is all set to take on Afghanistan in a dead rubber game with both teams eliminated from qualifying for the Asia Cup 2202 final. They will be eager to end the tournament on a high note and take some positive momentum with the T20 World Cup in sight.

Axar Patel over Deepak Hooda
Deepak Hooda has failed to shine after being included in the Indian team in place of Ravindra Jadeja is ruled out of Asia Cup 2022 due to injury. The 27 year old all rounder has misfired in both the games. It is also worth noting that neither Rahul Dravid or Rohit Sharma used Hooda as a sixth bowling option, when the regular bowlers had an off day with.

With Hooda not working out so far, Rahul Dravid and Co will look to include Axar Patel in the team. The all rounder is a like-for-like replacement for Jadeja too and can slot in at no 7 with great ease. He is also a better bowler than Hododa and will surely be in the running to deliver a full quota of four overs while also adding a left-handed batter element to the Indian team.
Game Time for Deepak Chahar?
Deepak Chahar has replaced Avesh Khan in the Asia Cup squad after the pacer was ruled out of the tournament due to injury. The speedster returned to action after a lengthy injury lay off and was seen in action against Zimbabwe, With Rahul Dravid’s strategy of playing two spinners not working out, the addition of an extra seamer would be a great option.
The 27 year old also in the running to be a part of the Indian for the ICC T20 World Cup and he could be drafted into the Playing XI, citing his prowess in the T20 format. His batting ability can also be a big boost for Rohit Sharma’s men who failed to accelerate in their previous outing against Sri Lanka.
