Quinton de Kock is a South African professional cricketer who plays for the Indian Premier League (IPL) side Lucknow Super Giants. The talented wicket-keeper batsman has proved his skills and talent at both the domestic and international stages. He has also been a very big asset in the Indian Premier League and has been playing in the domestic league since 2013. This article talks about Quinton de Kock’s net worth and the salary he earns while playing for the IPL side of Lucknow Super Giants.
Quinton de Kock’s cricketing journey began at a young age, growing up in Johannesburg, where he was greatly inspired by the rich cricketing culture of South Africa. His exceptional talent was evident early on, and he represented his school teams and local clubs before making his mark on the international stage. His professional career started in 2009/10 while playing for Gauteng, a first-class cricket team from the southern parts of the Gauteng province of South Africa.
The South African star has represented various domestic teams throughout his career, including the DP World Lions, Easterns, Titans, Cape Town Blitz, Northerns, Barbados Royals, Durban’s Super Giants, and Melbourne Renegades. De Kock has been a key player for all these teams, helping them achieve some great feats. He has also played in the Indian Premier League, one of, if not the best, domestic leagues in the world. He has represented multiple teams in the league, making his IPL debut in 2013.

Quinton de Kock was purchased by IPL side Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2013 auction. This marked his first involvement in the Indian domestic cricket league. However, a mega auction was announced ahead of the 2014 IPL season, and the cricketer found himself in the auction just one year later. It was Delhi Daredevils who managed to get their hands on the South African star this time, parting with ₹3.5 Crore to do so.

The wicketkeeper-batsman represented them for three years but was ruled out of the 2017 season due to an injury. The league decided that another mega auction would take place in the 2018 season, and Quinton de Kock once again found himself back in the auction. Royal Challengers Bangalore decided to buy the star this time, paying ₹2.8 Crore to sign him. However, his stay with the franchise was very short-lived, as they decided to transfer him to the Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2019 season.
Quinton de Kock spent three years representing the Mumbai Indians, and this is where he found most of his success in IPL. He developed into a very key player for them before leaving the franchise ahead of the 2022 mega auction. Quinton de Kock was purchased by Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 season and has since represented them in the Indian Premier League. Such lucrative contracts from these domestic leagues have been de Kock’s primary source of income and have helped him develop a net worth of around ₹82 Crore.

Quinton de Kock’s most recent contract in the Indian Premier League came with the Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 season. The franchise signed him for ₹6.75 Crore, and he has since earned this salary. It has been three years since he joined the franchise, but with the IPL 2025 mega auction looming around the corner, it is quite likely that de Kock will find himself in the auction again, and it will be very interesting to see where he ends up this time.
Despite his lack of form, each and every IPL franchise knows de Kock’s worth, and that class is permanent. If Lucknow Super Giants decide not to retain Quinton de Kock, many teams will surely line up to get their hands on the talented player. Given his dip in form, he may not go for the same amount of money as he did in the 2022 auction, but he will surely be purchased by a franchise.
