The entire world expected an incredible game between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, but that is not what ended up happening. PSG started the game very well, and Fabian Ruiz ended up scoring in the 6th minute of the game with Ousmane Dembele providing the assist. A horrific mistake from Raul Asencio in the defence saw Dembele win the ball in the box right next to the goalkeeper. Thibaut Courtois tried to come out and catch the ball, but Dembele managed to poke the ball away at the last second, putting it in the path of Fabian Ruiz. All the Spaniard needed to do after that was to touch the ball into an empty net to put PSG ahead.
Real Madrid tried to respond instantly, but instead of getting an equaliser, they ended up being punished. Ousmane Dembele capitalised on Real Madrid starting the game sluggishly and managed to score PSG’s second goal in just the ninth minute of the game, giving them a 2-0 lead and some breathing room very early on. The second goal was also caused by a defensive error, this time by Antonio Rudiger, Asencio’s centre-back partner. The German defender had the ball at his feet but ended up fumbling after Dembele applied some pressure. This allowed the French winger to run past him, and he managed to win the one-on-one battle against Courtois, tucking the ball past him to double PSG’s lead.

PSG were already two goals up but were not yet ready to rest, and a quick and efficient counter-attack in the 24th minute saw them score a third goal. This goal started with Achraf Hakimi, who combined with Desire Doue to move up the pitch before passing the ball to Ousmane Dembele. Dembele realised that he had managed to drag Fran Garcia out of position and touched the ball behind Garcia. The Moroccan defender showcased his brilliant pace, reaching the ball before everyone else and squared it to Fabian Ruiz. Ruiz managed to avoid Federico Valverde, who was dropping back feverishly to try and make a tackle, and tucked the ball into the net to score.

Real Madrid managed to hold on until half-time with the score at 3-0, but they came out in the second half looking very determined. They played very good football and, for the first time, dominated the ball, pushing PSG backwards. However, despite many attempts to create a goal-scoring opportunity, they were unable to get the final pass through and struggled to score a goal, trying to get back in the game. The clock kept ticking, and it was finally PSG who managed to score a fourth goal in the 87th minute, putting a final nail in the coffin and putting the game to rest, confirming their place in the FIFA Club World Cup final.
This goal was scored by Goncalo Ramos, who was given the ball by Bradley Barcola after he managed to dance around Eder Militao. Ramos gave himself space in the box and finished the chance to make the score 4-0 and send PSG to the final. The French club will now play Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup final and will hope to secure their fifth title of the season. Chelsea have been playing quite well, but given how PSG have performed in the 2024/25 season, they will surely go into the game as favourites, and almost all football fans will back them to beat Chelsea and win the new FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
