Prithvi Shaw Smashes Triple Ton Against Assam In Ranji Trophy

Prithvi Shaw continues his rich vein of form with the opener scoring his maiden triple century in first-class cricket. The young batter has dominated in the Ranji Trophy and excelled against Assam. The 23-year-old star is the only Indian cricketer to score a triple century in the Ranji Trophy, as well as scoring a double ton in Vijay Hazare Trophy and a century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The Indian international reached his maiden triple hundred in just 326 balls at the Amingaon Cricket Ground in Guwahati. With this knock, the right-handed batter has made a strong statement to break into the national team test side for the upcoming Border Gavaskar Series. India is all set square off against Australia in a four-match Test series which kick starts in Nagpur on 9th February.

Prithvi Shaw has played five Test matches for India so far, with his latest appearance for the national team coming on 17th December 2020 against Australia in Adelaide. Despite being selected to travel with the Indian team during the second-string squad’s tour to Sri Lanka in July 2021, Shaw has not played much for the Men in Blue since then. He will be eager to display his skills and continue scoring big runs in domestic cricket to knock on the doors of a national team call-up once again!

Prithvi Shaw is eventaully dismissed for 379! . Despite missing on out BB Nimbalkar’s record of 443 of scoring the highest individual score in Ranji trophy’s history, Shaw remains to have the most runs scored by an opener in a single Ranji innings.
