Rajvardhan Hangargekar

He had a debut to remember, with Hangargekar picking up the wickets of Wriddhiman Saha, Sai Sudharshan and Vijay Shankar. The 20-year-old was part of the Indian U-19 team that won the World Cup in 2022, which led to CSK spending ₹1.5 Crore for his last year. He has started to gain the confidence of MS Dhoni and will be eager to keep on growing with each passing game.

Joshua Little

Joshua Little became the first Irishman to play in the Indian Premier League. The fast bowler took to the field for an IPL side for the first time when he turned out for Gujarat Titans in the tournament opener. The all-rounder made his IPL debut for Punjab Kings and managed to grab some eyeballs with his performances. Not only did Raza score 16 runs off 13 deliveries, but he also managed to take the wicket of Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Nitish Rana while conceding just 25 runs off three overs.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Playing for Kolkata Knight Rider, the fiery Afghanistan batter managed to get going in his first match. He scored 22 runs off 16 balls against Punjab Kings but failed to convert it into a big score. One of the key highlights of Gurbaz’s innings is the 101-meter six he hit against Sam Curran off only his second ball. It is also worth noting that Gurbaz went on to become the first Afghan player to keep wickets in the Indian Premier League.

There was a lot of hype around him, citing his recent performances with the bat for England. However, Brook failed to make a solid first impression and had time to forget on his debut outing against Rajasthan Royals. Cameron Green

A lot was expected from the Australian all-rounder, who was making his first appearance in the Indian Premier League. However, the hard-hitting batter failed to get going and misfired with the bat as well as ball.  He had a debut to forget for Mumbai Indians, as the team saw most of the batting unit struggled with the bat against RCB. He scored just five runs off four deliveries before walking back to the hut. Speaking about Green’s performance with the ball, the Aussie star conceded 30 runs in just two overs. However, he did managed to claim the wicket of Dinesh Karthik on his debut.  He will be eager to get rid of the debut match jitters and come back strong in his next outing.

Nehal Wadhera

The little-known all-rounder from Punjab made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He grabbed eyeballs with his cameo on his IPL debut after being forced into a pressure situation. Walking in at 6 with the team struggling at 48/4, Wadhera played a brisk cameo scoring 13-ball 21. He hit Karn Sharma for consecutive sixes, with the second one travelling out of the ground. His 101-metre six was a key highlight of his innings which was cut short by Virat Kohli, who completed the catch at long-on to end his stay on the crease.

Reece Topley

The Englishman had a solid start to life in the Indian Premier League with the fast bowler  cleaning up fellow debutant and Mumbai Indians star Cameron Green. He conceded just 14 runs off his first two overs while taking a wicket for RCB. However, his impressive IPL debut, was cut short after when he dislocated his shoulder and forced to leave the field. Topley was also exceptional in the field and saved crucial runs for RCB during his first match for the team.
