IPL 2023 Auction: Players Who Can Trigger A Bidding War Between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings: The Indian Premier League 2023 auction is around the corner, and we have witnessed 405 cricketers participating in the mega-auction which 293 are Indians. IPL is a platform where players across the globe can earn and shine simultaneously. The league can be considered one of the toughest franchise leagues in the world, and with the amount of money brands invest in IPL, it is also the wealthiest cricketing league in the world.
The IPL 2023 management is done with their first steps for the auctions and will be heading towards the mega auction on 23rd December 2022 at Kochi. As ICC T20 World Cup 2022 has just ended, we have seen several young guns showcasing their skills and proving themselves valuable in the T20 format. Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are the two most successful franchises in the league, where both sides have won the IPL trophies more than three times, i.e. most by any IPL team.
Looking at the previous T20 performance in domestic and international circuits, we have an article that talks about three players that may trigger a bidding war between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

When it comes to IPL, every franchise looks for a young pacer they can groom and use in further editions of IPL. Like Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi and several young guns out there, Vidwath Kaverappa had made a place for himself in the pick list of MI and CSK.
The 23-year-old bowler is one of the best talents in the domestic circuit, and when it comes to his stats, he is just exceptional. Kaverappa had only played two first-class games, but he had taken four wickets in those two games.
Kaverappa had bowled 266 balls and spent 124 runs with an economy of 2.79. More specifically, Kaverappa had played eight games in his List A career and had picked up 17 wickets, including a career-best 4/40.
Kaverappa had played 18 games in his domestic career, taking 39 wickets with a fifer in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022. Kaverappa has the potential to be lethal in T20, as young medium-pacers can do wonders for their respective franchises if given a chance.
When it comes to the best all-rounders in the world, no other all-rounder comes near Ben Stokes. The left-handed batter is the captain of England’s Test side, and thanks to his heroics in ICC T20 World Cup 2022, England managed to defeat Pakistan and lift their second T20 World Cup Trophy. With someone like Ben Stokes on their side, the squad’s middle order and death become more robust and stable.
As it is MS Dhoni’s last IPL, the management needs someone to fill in his shoes, and someone like Ben Stokes should justify this role. Both had played together for Rising Pune Super Giants. With Kieron Pollard retiring from IPL, MI and co need someone like him to bat in the middle-order. Stokes could perfectly replace Pollard for MI in the upcoming IPL 2023 Auction.
After a thrilling T20 World Cup, Sam Curran would be a player to watch in the IPL 2023 auction. Curran is one of the few all-rounders in the world that can be lethal with the bat and the bowl. I never expected Chennai Super Kings to release Sam Curran in IPL 2023 retention.
Curran is indeed one of the best players in the world and had played 144 T20 games where the 24-year-old lad had bagged 146 wickets with an economy of 8.48 and had scored 1731 runs with a strike rate of 135.65. Curran is a good finisher who can also bowl at the death. The CSK’s management released the young former CSK, but he is someone CSK would bid for in IPL 2023.
Mumbai Indians, on the other side, need someone to ball in power-play overs. With Jofra Archers and Jasprit Bumrah on their side, the squad’s death overs and middle overs are strong. If someone like Curran joins the party, it would be a cherry on the cake for MI.
These three players, according to us, may trigger the bidding war between MI and CSK. This can be understood they are world-class players and had performed in their previous leagues.
