PCB Retains Fawad Alam, Denies Reports of Him Quitting Pakistan Cricket: Fawad Alam, the test cricketer, has issued a response to the reports claiming that he has decided to end his career with the Pakistan team. According to Cricbuzz, Alam has chosen to redirect his attention towards a new chapter in the United States.
As per the reports by Cricket Pakistan, Alam has completely dismissed rumours circulating about his retirement. He made it clear that he has not made any decisions about retiring and that the rumors floating around are unfounded.

He said, “I have not arrived at any conclusive determination up to this point. I have neither parted ways with Pakistan cricket nor opted for retirement. I remain committed to participating in domestic cricket, aiming to extend my involvement for the coming one to two years, or however long my professional journey continues.”
Alam played in four innings across three Test matches against Australia in the past year and scored a total of 33 runs. He also participated in a Test against Sri Lanka, where he scored 25 runs. However, after this, he was excluded from the Test squad

Throughout his time playing for Pakistan, Alam has participated in 19 Test matches, accumulating a combined total of 1011 runs with an average of 38.88. Notably, he has scored five centuries and two fifties.
During the year 2021, he managed to achieve three centuries against South Africa, Zimbabwe, and West Indies. However, his performance in a three-match Test series against Australia at home and a Test against Sri Lanka in July was not up to the mark, which led to his removal from the playing XI.
In the second Test against Sri Lanka last year, Alam was replaced by Agha Salman, which led to Fawad being dropped from the team once again.
