He played in IPL 2022 for KKR before opting out of IPL 2023. Cummins decided to return to the Indian Premier League in 2024, this time being selected by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping ₹20.50 Crore. This made him the second-highest player in IPL history once again (first before Mitchell Starc was sold for ₹24.75 Crore later in the same auction). SRH had spent so much as they wanted Cummins to become the team captain. He did a wonderful job taking them to the final, but he could not win the IPL trophy with SRH.
