There have not been any updates from the Sri Lanka Cricketing Board over these, but this can be possible.

On the match day, there is a 75% chance of rain, with late-day thunderstorms also in the forecast. Reports indicate that the likelihood of rain affecting the game rises to 95% at night. According to BBC weather reports, the expected chance of rain is anticipated to fluctuate between 30 and 50%.

As mentioned earlier, Hambantota could serve as an alternative venue for the game due to its more favourable weather forecast on 10th September 2023. According to other reports, there is a 90% likelihood of rain and a 54% chance of thunderstorms at the originally scheduled venue. The Super Four stage match between India and Pakistan is anticipated to experience 3 hours of rainfall on the day of the match.
