The England cricket team finds themselves in trouble ahead of their upcoming PAK vs ENG Test series. The visitors are reported to have 13-14 staff members affected by a virus on Wednesday. According to reports, half of England’s 16-man playing squad were affected by a virus after they claimed to feel unwell on Tuesday. It resulted in the management asking the players to stay in their rooms in order to limit the risk to others.
This outbreak is said to have taken place at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad. All members of the England and Pakistan cricket teams have been staying in the same place alongside the UK media. The visiting team is reported to have settled down in the second floor, with the executive lounge on the sixth floor acting as their team room.
It is rumored that the players are affected by a virus rather than food poisoning as the tourists are taking particular care of what they eat as they have brought a professional chef for the tour. This is not the first time that the England cricket team had players falling ill on a tour.
Back in 2019-2020, England was on a tour of South Africa. Many members of the visiting side were affected by a bug ahead of the Boxing Day Test in Pretoria which led to players leaving the field mid way to visit the toilet and were also seen taking medication and fluids during the game.
