Mohammad Azharuddin (India) – 23 Matches

Azharuddin debuted as a captain in the 1992 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. In the 1999 World Cup in England, India’s performance could have been better as they lost five out of the nine matches played and failed to qualify for the semifinals.
