Neymar Jr Picks Up New Injury After Recovering From ACL Tear

Neymar Jr recently returned to football after a year-long absence due to an injury picked up on 17th October 2023 against Uruguay in a FIFA World Cup qualifier match. The Brazilian star picked up an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear alongside a Meniscus injury on his left leg. This is one of the worst injuries to pick up as a footballer, and the player has been rehabilitating since to make a comeback. Neymar Jr made his return to football on 21st October 2024 against Al-Ain in the AFC Champions League. He came on as a substitute in the 77th minute to replace Nasser Al-Dawsari. His second appearance since his return came on 4th November 2024 against Esteghlal F.C. He was subbed on in the 58th minute to replace Abdullah Al-Hamdan. However, despite being a substitute, he could not complete his match. He seemed to be in pain after just a few minutes of being on the pitch.

The Brazilian star clutched his hamstring and appeared to have picked up another injury. He was subbed off in the 87th minute, replaced by Al-Hilal star Mohammed Al-Qahtani. Neymar Jr’s fans were horrified to see him go down with an injury when he had just recently returned from a very long stint on the sidelines. The 32-year-old star was regarded as one of the best players of his generation, and his fans just wanted to see him play football again and were desperate to see him return to the beautiful game.

Neymar Jr’s latest injury scared his fans all over the world, but the Brazilian star has given an update on playing down the injury. He said that it felt like a cramp and that he was going to have some tests to confirm that it was nothing serious. He went on to add that the doctors had already warned him that this could happen as he was playing football after over a year. The Brazilian went on to add that this is most likely nothing serious and is a problem that will be resolved once he has played more minutes.

The Brazilian star’s move to the Saudi Pro League was one of the biggest transfers in recent times. Al-Hilal fans were overjoyed to hear that the iconic Neymar Jr would be joining their team and could not wait to see him in action. However, since joining them on 15th August 2023, Neymar Jr has only made seven appearances for them in all competitions. He has struggled with injuries and not managed to stay fit, resulting in a lack of game time, which must be frustrating not only for him but for his fans.

Neymar Jr has always struggled with injuries in his career and has missed a massive 230 games through injuries and illnesses. However, this recent injury has been the longest time the Brazilian star has been sidelined throughout his career. He has been injured for 396 days since the start of the 2023/24 season and has missed a whopping 60 games through injuries. Neymar Jr’s fans will hope that his most recent injury is nothing serious and that he can stay fit for a long time now. Everyone wants to see the Brazilian star return to his past glory and play at the top of his game, at least for some time before he retires.
