Murali Kartik roped in as Funtasy11 brand ambassador

Due to the action-packed cricket season which started in India with the IPL 2019, the count of new fantasy sports portals and start-ups is bursting. One of these newest entrants into the market is Funtasy11, which has roped in Murali Kartik as the face of their company.

Kartik, a former Indian cricketer, was announced as Funtasy11’s brand ambassador this week. He is a specialist slow left arm bowler hailing from Chennai. His appointment as a brand ambassador of Funtasy11 comes after a slew of other cricketers also joined other fantasy portals recently.

Dream11, the company that’s helming the industry, recently announced a member from each of the 7 IPL teams (MS Dhoni is already Dream11 ambassador from CSK), as their ambassadors. Notably, captains of two teams KKR and KIXP, Dinesh Karthik and R Ashwin were among those drawn by Dream11 as faces for their marketing strategies.

Other such cricketers include Hardik Pandya and his brother Krunal who became HalaPlay ambassadors last month. Suresh Raina and Prithvi Shaw got onto Fantain and FanMojo bandwagon respectively. Gautam Gambhir was made CricPlay’s brand ambassador.

Coming to Kartik, he was the ‘Official Fan Engagement Partner’ for the recently concluded Premier Badminton League (PBL). The fantasy gaming space is expected to reach 100 million users by 2020, some experts say, and Funtasy11 hopes to strengthen its user base in this space.

Kartik said in a statement, “I’m thrilled to be a part of the Funtasy11 family as it gives users a different type of experience while the cricket match is being played live. Users are in control of their destiny on Funtasy11, keeping them captivated throughout the match.”
