I bet no batter in the world likes to get out for a duck in any format of cricket. The thought of getting out on a duck is anxiety inducing due to which players feel better when they score the first run of the innings without playing any dangerous shot.
We are here with an article that talks about those players who have recorded the most number of ducks in the history of IPL. Six players are joint at the top of the position bagging 13 ducks to their name in their IPL career. These include Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayudu, Ajinkya Rahane, Parthiv Patel, Harbhajan Singh, and Piyush Chawla.
The veteran Indian off-spin bowler, Harbhajan Singh, has the most ducks in IPL (13 ducks). Singh has represented three franchises Mumbai Indians (MI), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Kolkatta Knight Riders (KKR). Singh has played 163 matches in the IPL, where the Punjabi turbo has scored 833 runs with one 50s to his name. In his IPL career, Bhajji took 150 wickets at an average of 26.86, an economy of 7.07, and a strike rate of 22.77.
The current Indian all-format captain Rohit Sharma jointly holds the record with Harbhajan Singh. Rohit Sharma has played for Deccan Chargers (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) franchises. Sharma has played two roles for his franchises sometimes. The champ has also opened for the franchise and, when required, batted in the middle order. It is pretty interesting to see Sharma on the list. Sharma has scored 5611 runs in 213 matches at an average of 31.17 and a strike rate of 130.39.

The former Indian wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel also bagged 13 ducks in his IPL career. Patel has played for six different franchises in the IPL, where the lad had opened for every franchise. It is not shocking to see Patel in this list as being the opener he will face a new ball, and above all, he is responsible for scoring in the powerplay. Patel has scored 2848 runs in 137 matches at an average of 22.6, with a strike rate of 120.78.
Ajinkya Rahane holds the same amount of ducks in his IPL career. Rahane majorly played at the top order for all the franchises. He has been part of four franchises Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI), Rising Pune Super Giants (RPSG), Rajasthan Royals (RR). Facing a new ball is not an easy task for any batter. Rahane has scored 3941 runs in 141 matches he played so far, with an average of 31.53 and a strike rate of 121.34.
The former Indian middle-order batter Ambati Rayudu also bagged 13 ducks in his IPL career. Rayudu batted at the middle order for MI and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Rayudu has scored 3916 runs in 164 matches at an average of 29.44 with a strike rate of 127.47. The lad has also managed to smash 21 half-centuries and one century in the grand event.
Well, not many of you would have known that the former Indian veteran Gautam Gambhir is also one of the players dismissed on a duck 12 times.
