Gautam Gambhir played for Kolkata Knight Riders from 2011 to 2017. He won the IPL trophy with the franchise two times, in 2012 and 2014. His monstrous six, however, did not come in either of these seasons. This hit came in 2013 while playing against Rajasthan Royals. He smashed a delivery by S. Sreesanth for a huge six, which travelled 117 meters into the stand.

Ben Cutting’s 117-meter six came at the biggest possible stage. He was representing Sunrisers Hyderabad as they went up against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2016 final. After a decent start, Sunrisers Hyderabad seemed to be struggling, but Ben Cutting stepped up, scoring 39 in 15 balls and propelling his team’s score to 208. One of the four sixes he hit in this game has been immortalised in the history books.
In the 19th over of the game, Cutting sent Shane Watson’s waist-high full toss flying over the square boundary. The ball soared over the Chinnaswamy stadium’s roof. It landed outside the stadium, covering a total distance of 117 meters, making it one of the biggest sixes in Indian Premier League history.
Liam Livingstone hit one of the biggest sixes in Indian Premier League history in IPL 2022 while playing for Punjab Kings. He hit this huge shot on Mohammed Shami’s bowling in a game between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans. Livingstone puled the shot for a huge six and even the bowler could not help but smile after seeing just how far into the stands the ball had travelled.

Ross Taylor hit a 119-meter six while representing Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008. This was the first-ever edition of the Indian Premier League. While this mammoth six travelled 119 meters, it still was not the biggest six in the 2008 IPL season. More on that, however, will follow later. Taylor hit this six against Chennai Super Kings. He hit his fellow compatriot, Jacob Oram’s ball, for a huge 119-meter six.

Was there any chance that a list of sixes would be complete without Yuvraj Singh? The Indian power hitter was known for hitting the ball into the stands. Who can forget the six sixes in an over against Stuart Broad? This time, however, we are here to talk about a single six. Yuvraj Singh smashed a 119-meter six against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2009. He was playing for Kings XI Punjab then and hit this remarkable shot on Albie Morkel’s bowling.

Chris Gayle is arguably the greatest power hitter that cricket has ever seen. The West Indies legend has the most sixes in IPL history, and it is no surprise that he is on this list. Gayle is tied with Yuvraj Singh and Ross Taylor for hitting a 119-meter six. Gayle hit this colossal shot while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Gayle achieved this feat while facing Ashok Dinda’s bowling, who was representing the now-defunct team, Pune Warriors India.

Robin Uthappa is known for his classy shots rather than banging them out of the park, so seeing him here is a bit surprising. However, if you see his beautiful 120-meter six, you will never doubt his hitting prowess again. Uthappa smashed a 120-meter six in IPL 2010 while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He hit this huge six against Dwayne Bravo, who was representing Mumbai Indians at that time.

Adam Gilchrist’s 122-meter six in 2011 is still one of the top three longest sixes in history. While achieving this remarkable feat, Gilchrist was the captain of Kings XI Punjab. He hit this maximum against Royal Challengers Bangalore bowler Charl Langeveldt at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.

The biggest surprise you will find on this list is Praveen Kumar. Everyone would expect this list to have just batsmen and all-rounders. However, Praveen Kumar is second on this list despite being a bowler. The surprise entry hit a mammoth six in IPL 2008 while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He achieved this feat while facing Yusuf Pathan, who was representing Rajasthan Royals at that time. This is still regarded as one of the most marvellous sixes in IPL history,

Albie Morkel holds the record for the biggest six in Indian Premier League history. Ironically, this feat was achieved in the very first season of IPL, and the record has never been broken, even 17 years later. Morkel was a fantastic finisher and did an amazing job for Chennai Super Kings. He was CSK’s second most expensive pick in the 2008 auction but proved to be worth the price. Morkel hit the 125-meter mark while playing against Deccan Chargers. He hit this six on Pragyan Ojha’s bowling.
