Kamran Akmal SAID THIS On Veteran Indian Star Ahead Of 4th T20

Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal feels the form of Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is a good sign for the Men in Blue ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup. The Veteran wicketkeeper-batter shared how he feels that Ashwin has been impressive with his variations lately and having a bowler like him in the ranks will boost the team’s confidence at a major event.

 The 40-year-old went on to say how the Indian spinner has been a proven campaigner and match winner for the Men in Blue. Ashwin, who did not feature in T20I for India for a long time returned to the team set up for the ongoing tour of West Indies. He managed to pick up three wickets at a strike rate of 24 while recording an economy rate of 6.66.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kamran Akmal said, “Ravichandran Ashwin is a proven campaigner and his form ahead of the T20 World Cup is a positive sign for Indian cricket. He impressed once again with his variations. “ He added, “He has a lot of experience playing T20 cricket and is a matchwinner. It adds to the confidence of the team when you have someone like Ravichandran Ashwin to bowl in the middle overs.”

Kamran Akmal also went on to share his thoughts on Suryakumar Yadav with the middle order batter seen in good nick lately. The former Pakistan cricketer went on to heap praise on the batsman by appreciating his skills and shot selection, especially in the latest third T20I against West Indies. Yadav was awarded the Player of the Match for his innings which saw him score 76 runs off 44 balls and help India pocket a 2-1 lead in the series before the USA leg of the tour. 

The 40-year-old claimed, “Suryakumar showcased his skills and played a brilliant knock. His shot selection was very good. “Kamran Akmal added, “He would have scored a lot more runs from the same number of balls if Shreyas Iyer hadn’t got out at the other end. He slowed down a bit after Iyer’s dismissal.”

The Men in Blue recorded a massive  win in the first T20 before the West Indies bounced back in the 2nd match at in St. Kitts. However, Rohit Sharma and co got back on the  winning ways in the latest match and will eager to keep their winning momentum going when they square off against the Caribbean outfit in the fourth and fifth T20Is. the last 2 games of India’s T20I series against West Indies are set to be played in Lauderhill, Florida.  on 6th and 7th August respectively.
