Kagiso Rabada is a South African professional cricketer who currently plays for the Indian Premier League side of the Gujarat Titans. He is an incredibly good fast bowler who has made a name for himself by performing well and picking up crucial wickets for the South African cricket team, as well as the various franchises he has played for over the years. He even won the Indian Premier League purple cap in 2020, which is awarded to the highest wicket-taker of the season. This article talks about Kagiso Rabada’s net worth and the salary he earns while representing Gujarat Titans.
Kagiso Rabada’s cricketing career began at an early age, influenced by the rich cricket culture in South Africa. He honed his skills in the youth ranks, showcasing his talent in various domestic tournaments. Rabada first caught the eye of selectors during his impressive performances in the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where he played a pivotal role in leading South Africa to victory. His success saw him catapult into the Lions franchise for their last two games of the Sunfoil Series season, where he managed to pick up seven wickets in the last two matches.
The South African star proceeded to play for various teams like Gauteng, Lions, Kent, Jozi Stars, MI Cape Town and MI New York. These are the domestic teams he has represented in his career aside from Indian Premier League franchises. Rabada’s IPL career started back in 2017 when he was bought by the Delhi Daredevils for ₹5 Crore in the 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League. The South African star made six appearances for the Delhi Daredevils in his first IPL season, picking up six wickets while doing so.

Kagiso Rabada was not retained by the Delhi Capitals (renamed from Delhi Daredevils) ahead of the 2018 Indian Premier League mega auction. However, they liked what they saw and decided to buy him back in the auction. They spent ₹4.2 Crore to secure the services of the South African star, but he was later ruled out of the season due to a back injury. Rabada, however, was retained ahead of the 2019 season as well and ended up playing for the Delhi Capitals till 2021, when he was released after a new mega auction was announced.

His stay at the Delhi Capitals also included what is arguably his best-ever Indian Premier League season. Rabada picked up 30 wickets in 17 games in the 2020 IPL season and won the purple cap. The South African bowler was let go by the Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2022 auction, and Punjab Kings managed to secure his services, paying ₹9.25 Crore to do so. Kagiso Rabada represented the Punjab Kings from 2022 to 2024, playing for them across three seasons. He participated in 30 games for the franchise, picking up 41 wickets in the process.
Kagiso Rabada seems to have slowed down in recent times and is no longer picking up as many wickets as before. This is why Punjab Kings decided not to retain him ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League mega auction. Gujarat Titans jumped at this opportunity to sign the bowler and paid ₹10.75 Crore to bring him to Gujarat. This is one of the most lucrative contracts in Rabada’s career, and it is with the help of such professional contracts that the South African bowler has managed to accumulate a net worth of approximately ₹50 Crore.

As he continues to break records and set new benchmarks, it is clear that he is on the path to becoming one of South Africa’s cricketing greats. It will be fascinating to see how his career unfolds and what his salary and net worth will look like in the coming years.
