Joao Felix first came into the spotlight while playing for Portuguese football club Benfica. He rose to prominence from the youth academy and proved to the world exactly what he was capable of. They signed Joao Felix on 3rd July 2019 on a seven-year contract, paying a massive transfer fee of £113 million to secure the services of the young Portuguese talent.

While Felix did quite well with Atletico Madrid, everyone thought he was yet to unlock his true potential. Felix was loaned to Premier League side Chelsea on a six-month deal on 11th January 2023. The Portuguese star returned to Atletico Madrid after the conclusion of this loan deal, but there was too much tension between the player and the club. Felix was forced to train with the reserves. It was clear that Joao Felix could not continue to be an Atletico Madrid player, and as they could not find a permanent solution, the club decided to loan him to Barcelona for the entirety of the 2023/24 season.

Joao Felix returned to Atletico Madrid after the end of this loan deal, and it was clear that the Spanish club would try to sell him permanently during the summer transfer window. It was Chelsea who returned to sign Felix, paying a fee of £42 million to secure his services on 21st August 2024. They gave the Portuguese star a seven-year contract to ensure that he would stay with them for a long time to come. However, lack of game time at the club means that Felix has been loaned out to another club once again.

While the Portuguese star was doing decently well in the Premier League, stiff competition at Chelsea meant that Felix was not getting enough opportunities to prove himself and grow as a player.       This is why the club decided that it would be in the best interest of both parties if Felix went on a loan in search of more game time. AC Milan was more than happy to take advantage of this situation and bring the Portuguese star to Italy. AC Milan agreed to cover Felix’s wages during his loan, and Chelsea obliged, allowing Joao Felix to join the Serie A club.
