Jan Oblak spent most of his time at Benfica either on loan or playing for their B team. He was sent on loan to Beira-Mar in 2010 and to Olhanense in 2011. However, he managed to get proper game time during his loan to Uniao de Leiria in the 2011/12 season. After impressing in the Primeira Liga, he went on loan to Rio Ave in 2012/13, where he made a total of 31 appearances for the club in a single season.
