Jadeja saves India from further humiliation in 5th test

Day 3 of the 5th Test started with Ravindra Jadeja and Hanuma Vihari coming out to bat with India managing only 174/6 at the end of Day 2. Having lost wickets with not as many runs as required on the board, it seemed like India are gonna taste another defeat. A good partnership was needed at this crucial stage and the pair just did that, at least enough to allow some breathing space for India.

The pair scored a total of 77 runs in their time together between the wickets before Vihari lost his wicket in by getting an outside edge off his defensive shot and got caught behind by Bairstow. It was just his debut and he scored his maiden half century on his debut, UNDER PRESSURE!

Jadeja, on 39 at the time of Vihari’s dismissal, went on to score 86 and get India to at least a decent if not solid position to even contend in the next two innings. The middle order is where India have struggled all through out this tournament and two match defining knocks coming from the middle order was a good sight to all the Indian fans. India managed to put up a fair decent total of 292 before losing all their wickets.

England came out to bat and lost Jennings early as his poor form continued. Next to come out was Moeen Ali who looked to be well settled along with the man playing his last match, Alastair Cook. The pair seemed to be doing everything correct before Ali fell to a beauty by Jadeja. The score board read 64/2 at the time of Ali’s wicket and the next batsman was the skipper, Joe Root. The pair built a strong partnership and the Day ended with the score board reading 114/2 making it a 50 run partnership by the end of the day’s play.

Day 4 will be tough one for the Indian bowlers as they will look to get quick wickets but English batsmen look really composed and strong between the wickets. Keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for daily updates on the 5th Test between India and England.
