Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan turned back time to play one of the most scintillating innings for the India Legends in the ongoing Road Safety World Series 2022. A blistering innings by Irfan sees his register an unbeaten 37 off just 12 balls at the end in an innings packed with two fours and four sixes. His knock sees the Sachin Tendulkar led side register a massive win against Australia Legends in the semifinals of the tournament.
India Legend’s won the thrilling encounter by five wickets with just four deliveries to spare. They relied on a good start by Naman Ojha who shined alongside Irfan Pathan with his unbeaten innings of 90 runs off just 62 balls. The opener’s five sixes and seven fours put India into a driving position against a pace attack that consisted of Brett Lee and Dirk Nannes.

Speaking about the first innings, Ben Dunk top scored for Australia Legends scoring 46 runs off just 26 balls. Top cameos from Cameron White and Brad Haddin propelled the Shane Watson led side to a competitive score. The duo remained unbeaten to stitch up a 40-run partnership from just 18 balls to help the Australia Legends end their innings with a score of 171/5.
In response, Naman Ojha and Sachin Tendulkar got India Legends off to a good start. However, Nathan Reardon got the better of Tendulkar resulting in the batting icon walking back to the pavilion during the sixth over. Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh failed to get going and gave their wickets away without making much impact on the game. However, an in-form Naman Ojha continued to stay determined on one side of the crease.
He kept running out of partners with Stuart Binny and Yusuf Pathan falling within a space of six balls. Chasing a target of 172, India Legends found themselves in trouble before Irfan Pathan unleashed himself . The former India all rounder hit Dirk Nannes for a hat-trick of sixes to claim 21 runs off the 19th over. Irfan Pathan’s hitting in the penultimate over resulted in the equation seeing India Legends needing just 3 runs off the final six deliveries which they chased down with ease.
