IPL: Purple Cap Winners List

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has become the most highly anticipated franchised-based cricket tournament since its inception in 2008. Starting off with eight teams, the IPL now consists of ten sides representing different cities in India. With 15 editions already played so far, IPL 2023 will be the 16th season of the tournament. It is all set to begin on 31st March 2023 with the upcoming edition set to end in the last week on May.

The IPL has seen a ton of bowlers light the stage on fire with their batting performances over the years. From Lasith Malinga and Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Imran Tahir and Yuzvendra Chahal, the IPL has seen many star players showcase their skill at the highest level and walk away with the Purple Cap.

The Purple Cap is an award given to the batsman who ends up scoring the most amount of runs in a single Indian Premier League season. It was started back in 2008, during the inception of the tournament and has seen many legendary batsmen don the cap in the Indian Premier League.
