IPL 2023: Everything You Need to Know: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the highly awaited schedule for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The much-awaited IPL 2023 is all set to begin on 31st March 2023. Cricket fans around the world have shown a lot of anticipation for the upcoming season of the IPL.

The IPL 2023 schedule sees the fixtures return to the traditional home and away format. This format was not used over the last few years, with the tournament being impacted heavily due to COVID-19 impacted break. According to reports, the BCCI took its time to announce the IPL 2023 schedule so late is because of Women’s Premier League (WPL). 

They had recently announced the start of WPL which is set to begin on 4th March with the final of the tournament taking place on 26th March 2023. 5 teams are set to feature in the first ever full-fledged tournament like IPL for women cricketers.

IPL 2023 Details

The Indian Premier League is set to entertain cricket fans this year with the IPL 2023 auction making sure all franchises strength their their squads for the upcoming edition of the tournament. IPL 2023 has been announced by Board of Control for Cricket in India.

10 teams are all set to take part in IPL 2023 with Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Gujarat Titans battling out for glory. The upcoming edition of IPL will be played in a double round-robin format. Every side will play each two times in the league stage with top four teams on the points table qualifying for the playoffs.

IPL 2023 Matches

The first match of Gujarat Titans square off against Chennai Super Kings in the first match of IPL 2023 on 3st Match. Both teams will lock horns at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. We have a double header up next as Punjab Kings take on Kolkata Knight Riders in Mohali while Lucknow Super Giants square off against Delhi Capitals in Lucknow on 1st April 2023. Sunrisers Hyderabad plays Rajasthan Royals up next with the fifth clash of the tournament seeing Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on Mumbai Indians on 2nd April!

IPL 2023 Match Timing

This upcoming season of IPL 2023 will see 18 double headers. The evening games are set to start at 07:30 PM IST while the day games are handed a kick start of 3:30 PM IST. Apart from the league stage,  IPL 2023 play off schedule and venues will be announced later. It is also worth noting that IPL 2023 will be played on May 28, 2023.
