Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have not won the Indian Premier League (IPL) despite having a star-studded team over the years. Ahead of the IPL 2023 auction, RCB released five players and increased their purse value up to 8.75 crores.
They have retained a strong core of players and will be eager to take their team to the next level by making a few signings at the IPL 2023 auction. Let’s have a look at a few players who might boost Faf Du Plessis’ chances of helping the team win their maiden IPL title.
Narayan Jagadeesan
There rarely would be a team that would not be linked with Narayan Jagadeesan in the upcoming IPL 2023 auction. The opener, which was released by Chennai Super Kings, is one of the hottest properties that will go under the hammer in the upcoming auction. The 26-year-old is in the form of his life after he broke multiple records in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

RCB will look to have a player like Jagadeesan open their innings with Faf du Plessis, with an Indian opener allowing the franchise an additional foreign star. Last year, RCB saw Virat Kohli open the innings after Anuj Rawat failed, with Rajit Patidar slotting in at number three. Having someone like Jagadeesan will allow Virat to bat at his preferred number 3 position. With the Tamil Nadu star also a wicket keeping option, RCB should go hard for him.

RCB might also target Daryl Mitchell in the upcoming IPL 2023 auction, with the New Zealander faring well for the Black Caps in the recent past. The Kiwi star offers versatility having the ability to bat at various positions while also being handy with the ball. A good player of spin, Daryl Mitchell can shine in India on certain grounds, making him a great pick for RCB.

With RCB’s foreign quota of players pretty much fixed, the franchise might look to sign an Indian middle order batter to boost their batting line up. They could aim at Mandeep Singh with the former Delhi Capitals star being a perfect fit for the number five slot.
Mandeep Singh scored 112 runs in 5 matches while recording a strike rate of 149.33. He did well in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy while batting for Punjab and will a value addition to the RCB squad.
