IPL 2022: Who Will Win IPL: Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the best franchise-based leagues in the world. Year after Year, IPL scaled newer heights and its popularity. In 2014, IPL was ranked sixth in terms of average attendance viewed among all the sports leagues in the world. Eventually, IPL got a new sponsor, TATA replacing VIVO, which pulled out from the league. TATA being a sponsor will pull in more viewership and might generate more money.

IPL is the only cricket league globally that matches the viewership of the English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and more. The Brand value of IPL has been increasing steadily. It was ₹45,800 crore, and in 2021, it stood at ₹47,500 crores. In 2020, IPL made a massive viewership record of 31.57 million, an overall increase of 23% from the 2019 season.

Teams Participating In IPL 2022

Two more teams have been introduced in the current edition of IPL. This will be the second time in the history of IPL, where the managing committee will host the mega event with ten teams participating. The eight teams which regularly participated in the earlier editions are Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Gujarat Titans and Lucknow SuperGiants are new to the group. It will be interesting to witness which team can win the IPL 2022 trophy.

In 2010, CSK were the defending champions, and in 2011, a ten-team league was played for the first time. CSK again defended their title for the second time in a row. Just like in 2021, CSK won their fourth title, and 2022 will be a ten-team event. Is there any chance for CSK to defend the title again? CSK will match the Mumbai Indians Trophy cabinet of five IPL titles if they do.

Who Will Win IPL?

As we all know, 33 players have been retained/signed, or acquired by all ten franchises. After acquiring the players for the franchise teams, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Delhi Capitals are the strongest of all other teams. These three teams will be the favorites to win TATA IPL 2022. One franchise that might surprise all of you is Gujarat Titans.

Everyone might be surprised to see Gujarat Titans winning the upcoming edition of the TATA IPL 2022. Hardik Pandya, the local boy from Gujarat, has been appointed as the captain of the Gujarat side. We all know how good Pandya is with the bat, bowl, and in the field. Every franchise is aware of his skills, but none of them knows his captainship skills. He never captained any side in any format or even at the school level. All the pundits and experts are surprised by the franchise for appointing Pandya as the captain for the Gujarat Titans.

Similarly, Rohit Sharma took charge midway of Mumbai Indians in 2013 and helped them win their maiden IPL title against Chennai Super Kings. Since then, Sharma has been known as one of the best players in the world. Pandya might have taken some of the captainship lessons from previous captain Sharma while playing for Mumbai Indians, which might help him as a captain and a player.
