Yashasvi Jaiswal ended up scoring 171 runs in 387 balls at a strike rate of 44.18 in his debut Test match.
Suresh Raina made his Test cricket debut for the Indian cricket team on 26th July 2010 in a game against Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan cricket team batted first and managed to score 642 runs before declaring. While India was in a tough position, they did not give up and fought back hard. Raina was one of the players who did very well. He walked in at number six and managed to score 120 runs in 228 balls at a strike rate of 52.63, scoring a century on his debut.
Sourav Ganguly made his debut for the Indian cricket team in Test cricket in a game against the England cricket team on 20th June 1996. England batted first and India managed to bowl them out for 344 runs. Sourav Ganguly stepped in at number three after Vikram Rathour lost his wicket and managed to score a century on his debut for India. Ganguly managed to score 131 runs in 301 balls at a strike rate of 43.52 to help India salvage a draw.
Pravin Amre’s Test cricket debut came on 13th November 1992 in a game against the South Africa cricket team. South Africa batted first, and India managed to bowl them out for 254 runs. India’s batting did not start out too well, and Ravi Shastri, Ajay Jadeja, Sanjay Manjrekar, and Sachin Tendulkar all lost their wickets cheaply. However, Pravin Amre stepped in at number six and managed to impress everyone on his debut. He scored 103 runs in 299 balls at a strike rate of 34.44 to help India salvage a draw.

India batted first, and Shreyas Iyer managed to impress right from the off, walking in at number five and scoring 105 runs in 171 balls at a strike rate of 61.40. He also managed to score 65 runs in India’s second inning and won the man of the match award, but his efforts were not enough to help India win, and the match ended in a draw.
Hanumant Singh became one of the Indian players to have scored a century on their Test debut. He managed to do this in the game between India and England on 8th February 1964. India batted first, and Hanumant Singh walked in at number five and scored 105 runs to help India reach a score of 344 in the first inning. However, despite his best efforts, the match between India and England ended up finishing in a draw.
Deepak Shodhan made his Test cricket debut for the Indian cricket team on 12th December 1952 against the Pakistan cricket team. Pakistan batted first, and India managed to bowl them out for 257. Many people in the Indian team did decently well, but Shodhan changed the game, walking in at number eight. He managed to score 110 runs to help India score 397 runs. This makes him one of the Indians to have scored a century on their Test cricket debut.
Lala Amarnath made his debut for the Indian cricket team in Test cricket against the England cricket team on 15th December 1933. India batted first, and while Amarnath only scored 38 runs in the first inning, he performed incredibly well in the next inning. Lala Amarnath scored 118 runs in the second inning, but despite his best efforts, England managed to win easily, winning the game by a margin of nine wickets.

Rohit Sharma made his debut for the Indian cricket team in Test cricket on 6th November 2013 against the West Indian cricket team. India managed to bowl out the West Indies for 234 runs and played brilliantly themselves. Rohit Sharma walked in at number nine and managed to score 177 runs in 301 balls at a strike rate of 58.80. This helped India score 453 runs, and they managed to win the game by an innings and 51 runs.
Shikhar Dhawan managed to score a century on his Test debut for the Indian cricket team in the match against Australia on 14th March 2013. Australia batted first and managed to score 408 runs, but India retaliated brilliantly. Dhawan opened the innings and managed to score 187 runs in 174 balls at a strike rate of 107.47 to help India score 499 runs and eventually win the game by a margin of six wickets.

Prithvi Shaw made his Test cricket debut for the Indian cricket team in a game against the West Indies cricket team on 4th October 2018. India batted first, and Prithvi Shaw opened the innings and managed to score 134 runs in 154 balls at a strike rate of 87.01 to help India score a total of 649 runs before deciding to declare. Indi managed to bowl West Indies out for 181 runs and 196 runs and ended up winning the game by a massive margin of an innings and 272 runs.
Mohammad Azharuddin is another Indian star who managed to score a century on his Test cricket debut. In the game against England on 31st December 1984, India batted first and Azharuddin walked in at number five and managed to score 110 runs in 322 runs at a strike rate of 34.16 to help India score 437 runs. India managed to bowl England out for 276 runs, but ran out of time, and the match ended in a draw.
Surinder Amarnath made his debut for the Indian cricket team in Test cricket against the New Zealand cricket team on 24th January 1976. New Zealand batted first, and India were able to bowl New Zealand out for 266 runs. Surinder Amarnath stepped in at number three after Dilip Vengsarkar lost his wicket cheaply and ended up scoring 124 runs to help India score 414 runs and win the game with eight wickets in hand.
Gundappa Viswanath is another Indian star who scored a century on his Test debut, achieving this feat against the Australian cricket team on 15th November 1969. India batted first, but Gundappa Viswanath ended up getting out on a duck in the first inning. However, he managed to play beautifully in the second inning and scored 137 runs to help India salvage a draw against the England cricket team.
Abbas Ali Baig made his debut for the Indian cricket team in Test cricket against the England cricket team on 23rd July 1959. England batted first and they managed to score 490 against India. They bowled India out for just 208 and added another 265 runs before declaring. Abbad Ali Baig did much better in the second inning and scored 112 runs, but England managed to bowl them out for 376 runs and won the game by 171 runs.
G. Kripal Singh is another Indian cricketer who has scored a century on his Test cricket debut. India faced New Zealand on 19th November 1955, and India batted first. Kripal Singh walked in at number five and scored 100 runs to help India score 498 runs before deciding to declare. India bowled England out for 326 runs and gave them a follow-on, but England managed to hold out, and the match ended in a draw.
Virender Sehwag made his Test debut for the Indian cricket team on 3rd November 2001 in a game against the South African cricket team. India batted first, and Sehwag walked in at number six and managed to score 105 runs in 173 balls at a strike rate of 60.69 to help India score 379 runs. However, Sehwag managed only 31 runs in the second inning, and South Africa ended up winning the game comfortably with nine wickets in hand.
