IND vs AUS 3rd Test Match Report: Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 Updates And Everything You Need To Know: The Border Gavaskar Trophy  is one of the biggest rivalries in red ball cricket. Named after after former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar and former Australian captain Allan Border, the Border Gavaskar Trophy consists of a series of Test cricket matches played between India and Australia.

Being played in India this time around, the highly awaited Border Gavaskar Trophy sees the third test match of the series kick off on 1st March 2023. The India vs Australia 3rd test will take place at the Holkar Stadium in Indore and will be played between 1st-5th March 2023.

The Indian cricket team will head into the match after already pocketing the Border Gavaskar Trophy for the third time in a row. The Men in Blue won the first two matches, which took place at Kanpur and Delhi respectively and will enter the Indore test with a 2-0 lead. The hosts have shown tremendous form in home conditions and have a upper hand over Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023.  It remains interesting to see if Rohit Sharma’s men can replicate the results in Indore!

The pitch at the Holkar Stadium in Indore is a batting-friendly wicket.. However, after the first few sessions, one can expect some wear and tear on the pitch, resulting in some assistance to the spin bowlers in the later half of this clash. Spinners will play a key factor in determining the result of the India vs Australia 3rd test.

The Indian cricket team does not have any players ruled our due to injury. Australia on the other hand will face a significant drawback with Pat Cummins will not be available for the third Test.

IND vs AUS 3rd Test Day 1 Session 1

India tumble bad in the first session. They end up losing 7 quick wickets in the first session of play as fans continue to question the turning track on Day 1 of the 3rd Test! The hosts are 84/7 at lunch! 

IND vs AUS 3rd Test Day 1 Session 2

India is all out for 109! Australian spinners exploited those conditions wonderfully, with Matthew Kuhnemann leading the line this time around. He completed his first ever five wicket haul and set the ball rolling with the wicket of Rohit Sharma. Can India bounce back!? Let’s wait and watch! 

IND vs AUS 3rd Test Day 1 Session 3

After getting hammered in the first two Tests, Australia managed to bounce back in Indore! The visitors came out all guns glazing with the ball as After Matthew Kuhnemann led the show to claim his first Test five-for. On the batting front, Usman Khawaja lead the way while Ravindra Jadeja tried to sort things out with the ball for India.

In the end, the Aussie only managed to lose only four wickets while carrying a lead of 47 runs at the end of Day 1. The morning session saw India take the most damage was done, as the spinners settled in to hand Australia a massive start to the series. It remains interesting to see if Australia manage to hold onto the lead and make a comeback.

IND vs AUS 3rd Test Day 2 Session 1

Australia are all out for 197! The visitors fared well at the start for the day managing to keep a hold of their decent start in the first hour or so. Later, Ashwin struck right after the drinks break while Umesh pulled strings from the other end  which saw Australia lost their last 6 wickets for 11 runs! The visitors still hold a commendable lead of 88 runs with India set to bat for a short span before lunch.
