Iftikhar Ahmed Breaks Nepal’s Dream Of Defeating Pakistan! Back With A Bang: Hundred from just 67 balls, what a knock in the first match of the Asia Cup 2023 – this is the maiden hundred in International cricket. Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first, but Nepal initially shook Pakistan by taking the wickets of the openers for just 25 runs in 6.1 overs. Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq were sent back to the pavilion by Karan KC and Asif Shaikh, and a smashing throw from Rohit Paudel respectively.

However, wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan and captain Babar Azam took Pakistan past the hundred. Rizwan scored 44 runs off 50 balls before being run out by Dipendra Singh, while Agha Salman also returned to the pavilion after scoring 9 runs off 11 balls. Sandeep Lamichhane got the wicket of Agha Salman. But Iftikhar Ahmed joined Babar at the crease and led Pakistan to a good score.

After completing his century, Babar scored a quick six, and Iftikhar didn’t do too badly either. Babar took Pakistan past 300 with a four off the last ball of the 47th over. After this, Iftikhar Ahmed took Pakistan close to 350 in the last overs, but the return of Babar and Shadab Khan in the last over of the innings was a setback.

Babar scored 151 off 131 balls, taking 20 more balls to make 150 after completing his century on the 109th ball he faced. Iftikhar Ahmed completed his century in just 67 balls, remaining unbeaten on 109* off 71 balls. The partnership between Babar and Iftikhar proved to be crucial in taking Pakistan to a good score.
