The International Cricket Council (ICC) was trolled heavily by cricket fans after the Indian cricket team lost its number one position in the Test rankings within hours. The ICC website reported a glitch which saw Australia get a massive 15 points drop and move down to the 2nd place.
It also resulted in India occupying the top spot in ICC ranking across all three formats for a few hours. However, the error was rectified with the latest update showing Australia got back to the ‘numero uno’ spot with 126 points against their name while India slotted in at second place with 115 points.
These Test rankings were revealed after the Men in Blue recently registered a comprehensive victory over Australia in the first test match of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy. Playing at Nagpur, Rohit Sharma and co recorded a massive win by an inning and 132 runs, with the first test match ending in just three days.

Following India’s win against Australia, Rohit Sharma’s men moved to the No one spot on the ICC Test match rankings. Earlier, they had already clinched the top rankings in One Day Internationals after getting the better of New Zealand and were already the No. 1 T20I ranked side. Twitterati did not waste any time in calling out the blunder by ICC with many netizens criticizing it while many continued to congratulate India on the now-withdrawn feat.
Congratulations #TeamIndia on this GREAT ACHIEVEMENT 👍
