Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president Mohammad Azharuddin has come to the defense of the cricket governing body after three case sections were filed against them by the Hyderabad police. The Indian Cricket team is scheduled to take on Australia at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The third T20I is all set to take place in Hyderabad on 25th September with the match tickets going up for sale on Thursday morning.
Fans arrived in large numbers to get hold of offline tickets which resulted in a lot of chaos at the Gymkhana ground. It resulted in the police conducting a lathi charge to control the situation. Amid the same, fans were seen creating a stampede like situation with few of them were injured.
Very horrible and the most painful thing. This is the worst managenent ever by #HCA

Mohammad Azharuddin has defended the state body stating that the excitement to see an international game being played in Hyderabad after a three-year gap led to the events. The former India cricketer claimed that the HCA board has made no mistake while emphasizing on the difficulties a cricket board faces when it comes to hosting an international game.

He also went on to express sympathy for the fans who were injured on Tuesday. Mohammad Azharuddin also revealed that the HCA will not let the incident affect the upcoming 3rd T20I in any manner while ensuring a complete report about ticket’s availability for the game.
The 59-year-old addressed the media during a press conference which was also attended by Hyderabad’s Sports Minister. He said, “It is not as easy to conduct a match as sitting in this room and discussing. We have done nothing wrong. We are with the fans who were injured in the morning incidents, and the HCA will take care of them completely. I will give a complete report on the sale of tickets, availability and other details to the Minister and he will tell you what is correct and what is wrong.”
“There are going to be problems. Yes, the public wants to see the match after a three-year gap. But, again, not all of them can do it. We will give all the details at the media briefing on Friday. We have nothing to hide. But, at the same time, we have to make sure the game goes forward. The Supreme Court has not given any order restraining my powers,” Mohammad Azharuddin added.
