He is primarily a middle-order batsman and is known for his patience and resilience in the longer format of the game. He made his international debut for India in 2018 and has since established himself as a dependable player in the Test team. One of Hanuma Vihari’s most notable innings is his batting performance in the 5th Test match against Australia in the 2018-19 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Batting in the second innings, Vihari scored a valiant 23 not out off 161 deliveries, which helped India secure a draw and win the series 2-1, its first ever Test series victory in Australia. This innings displayed Vihari’s ability to play with discipline and determination in pressure situations, earning him praise from fans and cricket experts alike.

Andhra captain Hanuma Vihari came out to bat on the second day of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 quarterfinals with a fractured wrist. Yes, you heard it right. Instead of getting a fractured wrist, his never give up attitude brings him back to fight back. Vihari came out of the crease and batted left-handed due to his wrist. 

On Day 1 of the match at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Vihari was hit by a bouncer from Avesh, forcing him to retire hurt. According to reports, the middle-order batter will be out for at least five to six weeks.
