The Belgian Football Team has been active for a very long time. Their oldest success in the sport came when they won the Olympic Games bronze medal in 1900. While they have a very rich history, they have little success. They won the Olympic Games gold medal in 1920 but have yet to win any major tournament since. Their best finish in the FIFA World Cup is third place, which they achieved in the 2018 World Cup. Their best performance in the Euros came in 1980 when they lost to West Germany in the final. This list features some of the best Belgian players to have ever lived.

Many considered Hazard the third-best player in the world, ahead of Neymar. However, once he left Chelsea, his career went downhill. The Belgian forward joined Real Madrid in 2019, but his career in Spain was littered with injuries. It also seemed like Eden Hazard had lost the will to play football. Eventually, after a tempestuous four years at the club, Eden Hazard decided to retire.

Kevin De Bruyne will go down as one of the best midfielders in football history. There are many midfielders in the world who are incredibly good, but De Bruyne is exceptional. His vision on the pitch is nearly impossible to match. He sees passes and plays that people can’t even think of. To top it all off, he has near-perfect execution to match his vision. He is one of the most complete midfielders the world has ever seen.
The Belgian midfielder started his career in KRC Genk. After an impressive start to his professional career, he was signed by Chelsea. However, he was immediately sent out on loan, and his move to Chelsea did not pan out. De Bruyne left the club in 2014 and joined VfL Wolfsburg. He showcased his talent once again, and it was Manchester City that decided to sign him this time out.
He has been with Manchester City since 2015 and is one of their most important players. He has won the Premier League five times at the club, the FA Cup twice, the EFL Cup five times, and the UEFA Champions League once. He helped Manchester City complete the coveted ‘treble’ in the 2023 – 24 season. Kevin De Bruyne has played 99 games for his nation and scored 26 goals. He is a part of the ‘Golden Generation’ of Belgium.
