Gautam Gambhir Names THESE 2 Indian Stars To Be Crucial In T20 WC

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has named two players who will be crucial for Men in Blue at the ICC T20 World Cup.  With the competition just over two months away, cricket teams across the world are gearing up to be at their best and sort down their squads for the tournament. The ICC event is all set to be played in Australia this year with all teams focused on their preparation for the mega-event.

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team is also looking to zero in on their players for the ICC event. Currently playing at the Asia Cup, the Indian side is considering the six nation tournament as a place to sort out all the chinks in their armour before they take part in the T20 World Cup.

The former India opener has claimed that performances of Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah will be crucial for the Men in Blue if they want to do well in the T20 World Cup. Speaking on Star Sports before India’s Asia Cup clash against Hong Kong, Gautam Gambhir claimed that the duo needs to perform. While Hardik Pandya has been contributing with the bat and ball, Bumrah is currently undergoing rehabilitation and has been ruled out of Asia Cup 2022.

The 4-year-old said, “Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah are key. Him (Hardik Pandya)  and Jasprit Bumrah can bowl in conditions, situations. Hardik Pandya is world class.” Gautam Gambhir  added, “We all know about his ability with the bat but imagine he is bowling over 140 plus with the ball…what else can you expect from an all-rounder. He is an absolute match-winner, x-factor, whatever names you can give him,”

“If India are making a statement now, and if India needs to do the same in the World Cup, these two guys need to fire. If India wants to have any chance of winning the World Cup, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya have to fire,” Gambhir further claimed.

The Men in Blue have currently qualified for the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2022 after registering two back to back wins in the tournament. They will be eager to get going and win the six nation competition to boost the team’s confidence ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.
