Speaking on Gambhir’s participation in the league, co-founder and the CEO of Legends League Cricket, Raman Raheja, stated that fans can expect a “nerve-chilling” performance. Raheja expects Gautam Gambhir, who retired from all forms of cricket in December 2018 to put up a performance similar to his outing in the final of the 2011 ODI World Cup against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium.

The LLC CEO is quoted saying, “Who will ever forget Gautam Gambhir’s match-winning 97 runs in the 2011 World Cup Finals? I am sure fans will be expecting to experience the same nerve-chilling performance from Gautam and other iconic players in Season 2.”

Gautam Gambhir was one of India’s best players in ICC 2011 World Cup final. The 40-year-old batsmen had top-scored for the Men in Blue, registering 97 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai helping the hosts win the final by six wickets. He has been a part of the Indian team which won the maiden ICC T20 World Cup in 2007. The opener had also top-scored at the 2007 final in Johannesburg too, recording 75 runs.
