Fawad Alam’s Top 5 Innings For The Pakistan Cricket Team: Fawad Alam, the Pakistani middle-order batter, had a delayed start to his career. Although he made his debut in 2007, he remained obscure for more than ten years before making an impressive comeback in red-ball cricket. At the age of 36, he has become an essential player for the national team in the traditional format of the game and continued to excel. Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 2009 : 168 runs

The second Test match of the series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan took place in Colombo, with Pakistan choosing to bat first after winning the toss. However, their decision backfired as they were limited to a meager total of 90 runs in their first innings. Sri Lanka responded with a respectable total of 240 runs, putting the visitors under pressure. Pakistan started strongly in their second innings, hoping for a positive outcome. Fawad Alam, making his debut in red-ball cricket, had an impressive performance, scoring his first century in just his second innings with 168 runs. Despite his efforts, Sri Lanka emerged victorious by seven wickets.

Pakistan vs West Indies 2021: 124 Runs

In the second Test of the series against West Indies, Pakistan was chosen to bat first by the hosts. Unfortunately, they got off to a terrible start, with three of their top batters being dismissed at the score of just two runs. West Indies were hoping for a swift end to the innings, but Fawad Alam and his captain Babar Azam put up a significant partnership of 166 runs to keep the visitors’ hopes alive. Fawad scored an incredible unbeaten 124 to help Pakistan recover from their early troubles and finish with a total of 302 runs. Pakistan won the match by 109 runs thanks to the fantastic batting performance of Fawad Alam, who took played well in times of need

Pakistan vs South Africa 2021: 109 Runs

In 2021, the first Test between Pakistan and South Africa was held in Karachi. The visiting team won the toss and chose to bat first for the series opener. However, they could only manage to score 220 runs in their first innings. The Pakistani team had a shaky start to their innings and were in a difficult position with a score of 27/4. But, Fawad Alam stepped up for the Asian side and played a crucial knock, scoring a century to help Pakistan reach a total of 378 runs in their 1st innings. The Pakistani bowlers then performed well and restricted South Africa to 245 runs in the second innings. As a result, the hosts won the match by seven wickets and Fawad Alam was honored as the player of the match.

Fawad Alam’s Game Changing Innings

Fawad’s breakthrough came in the 2006-07 season where he shone above the rest. He led Karachi Dolphins to the final of the Twenty20 Cup, impressively taking five wickets and scoring 54 runs. He was awarded Man of the Final, Man of the Series, Best Batsman and Best Bowler. Fawad also performed well in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy and was the fifth highest run-scorer. He was a valuable player for National Bank in the Patron’s Cup and almost took Karachi Dolphins to the ABN AMRO Cup final as the second highest run-scorer and highest wicket-taker.

Pakistan Academy’s tour of Africa 2008

In 2008, the Pakistani selectors picked Fawad for the Pakistan Academy’s tour of Africa, which paved the way for him to earn a spot in Pakistan’s limited-overs teams. During his time with the team, Fawad emerged as the top scorer, displaying exceptional skills and talent. Notably, he achieved a remarkable feat by scoring an unbeaten 302 in a four-day game against Kenya.
