Fawad Alam Leaves Pakistan Cricket Behind, Finds New Opportunities In The USA: After a successful 15-year career playing for Pakistan, middle order batter Fawad Alam has decided to join the Minor League Cricket T20 tournament. He will be representing the Chicago Kingsmen as a local player in this upcoming tournament. Additionally, Fawad’s move to the USA will also provide him with opportunities to participate in the Major League Cricket tournament (MLC) in the future.
It is worth noting that Fawad is not the only Pakistani player to have made this choice. Other players such as Sami Aslam, Hammad Azam, Mohammad Mohsin, and Saif Badar have also moved to the United States in pursuit of greater opportunities

Fawad initiated his international career for Pakistan in the ODI format, commencing with a match against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi in May 2007. In addition, he also marked his T20I debut against Kenya in Nairobi on 4th September 2007.
Fawad faced limited opportunities to bat in Pakistan’s Test matches due to the strong presence of batting legends such as Mohammad Yousuf (at the outset), Azhar Ali, Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq in the middle order.
During his time playing for Pakistan, he participated in 19 Tests and was able to accumulate a total of 1011 runs, with an average of 38.88. This impressive feat included five centuries and two half-centuries. He was given more chances to play in the white-ball formats, particularly in ODI cricket.
Even though he has proven himself to be an exceptional batsman, the Pakistan Cricket Board has failed to acknowledge his talent during matches.
After a remarkable debut in 2009 where he scored a ton, he was unfortunately dropped after just a few Tests. Despite consistently scoring mountains of runs with an impressive average of 55 in domestic cricket, he had to wait for 11 years to make his next appearance in Test cricket.
At the world level, Pakistan is widely recognized for its internal politics in cricket. It’s often observed that the selectors tend to favor players who manage to establish a good relation with teams top management by flattery. However, Fawad Alam was an exception to this trend as he let his bat do the talking instead of buttering up anyone for favors.
The financial stability of Pakistan is often unpredictable, and many cricket players believe that their sport offers inadequate earning opportunities.
Just like everyone else, Fawad also has a family to take care of. He desires a stable and prosperous life, a secure future, and a successful career where he can pursue his passion for cricket without any undue influence from the Board Members or teams in general.
Embarking on a fresh venture in the Minor Cricket league, his main objective is to regain his status as a skilled and versatile batter who can excel in any format, and to be granted ample opportunities to showcase his abilities on the international stage.
