England took Netherlands to the cleaners to record the highest ever score in One Day international cricket (ODI) on Friday. Eoin Morgan’s men had a near perfect outing ending their innings just 2 short of 500 with Liam Livingstone breaking the landmark of scoring England’s fastest ever ODI fifty.
Things started off well for Netherlands who managed to reduce the tourists to 5 for 1 getting rid of Jason Roy. Phil Salt came to England’s’ rescue and helped himself to a well-deserved century. He ended up scoring 122 runs from 93 balls with Dawid Malan also recording 125 runs in 109 balls. Malan also went on to be the third Englishman to score a century in all three formats of the game. The duo managed to stich up a match winning 200-plus run stand during their stay on the crease.

Later on, it was the Jos Buttler show as the wicket-keeper batter scored the second fastest century for England in ODI cricket. he ended up amassing 162 from just 70 balls while forming an aggressive partnership with Liam Livingstone. Livingstone, walked on in the last five overs and came out all guns blazing. He reached his fifty in just 17 balls, falling one ball shy of the overall ODI record.
