Dream11 donates 3CR at IFSG’s ‘Stars of Tomorrow’

The Indian Federation of Sports Gaming (IFSG) recently hosted the ‘Stars of Tomorrow’, a programme to support potential young talents in the field of sports from all around India.

The programme was hosted at the Trident Hotel in South Mumbai a couple of days ago. A panel discussion was also held at the venue, featuring the multiple medal-winning boxer and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Mary Kom, a person who surely needs no further introduction. Others to join in the discussion were Principal Secretary to CM of Maharashtra Bhushan Gagrani, Dream11 CEO Harsh Jain and cricket historian Boria Majumdar.

The ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ initiative drew 168 young sporting enthusiasts from across the country. GoSports Foundation, the ‘Implementation Partner’ of this initiative, selected 13 final athletes, after a thorough process. The 13 athletes were from a range of sporting backgrounds like sailing, swimming, squash and tennis. Dream11 is also one of the founding members of IFSG.

Deepthi Bopaiah, Executive Director of GoSports Foundation said, “We have selected athletes who have exhibited great performances and potential to excel and look forward to work with them on making a smooth transition to the senior level and represent India at the world stage.

IFSG President John Loffhagen commented on the goodwill initiative, saying, “Inspired by the Indian Sports Ministry’s efforts and initiatives, IFSG wants to felicitate and contribute towards building India as a great sporting nation. Being a part of the sports ecosystem, we feel it is our responsibility to enable the overall growth of sports and provide specific support to deserving athletes at an individual level.

Felicitating the 13 athletes, ace boxer Mary Kom also weighed in on the overall state of sports in India, saying, “I am happy to be associated with IFSG’s initiative as I feel that for India to truly become a sporting nation and be seen as a strong contender in the international arena, support needs to be given not only for team sports but also to individual sports. IFSG’s Stars of Tomorrow is another welcome step towards achieving national goals.

In addition to this brilliant initiative by IFSG, the event also saw Dream11 Foundation, the charity arm of Dream11, pledge INR 3 Crores for the programme and handed the cheque to John Loffhagen. Harsh Jain, CEO of Dream11, said, “We are proud to support IFSG’s Stars of Tomorrow initiative as it resonates with our Foundation’s objective of contributing towards building India as an even greater sporting nation.

In other recent news, Dream11 also partnered with International Hockey Federation (FIH) for hockey fantasy league offerings. Keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for gaming industry updates, tournament related info and much more.
