Dominic Solanke started his career in Chelsea’s youth squad. He joined the academy in 2004 and started progressing through the ranks. On 4th August 2015, Chelsea decided to send Solanke out on loan to get him some game time and experience. He joined Eredivisie club Vitesse on a season-long loan. He made his debut on 23rd August 2015 against Feyenoord. Dominic Solanke returned to Chelsea after his loan, but he was still the third-choice striker. Solanke did not want to go on loan again and rejected offers from several clubs and ended up staying at Chelsea for the 2016-17 season.
After his contract with Chelsea expired in the summer of 2017, Solanke was free to join any club he desired. Bournemouth got relegated at the end of the 2019-20 season, but Solanke stayed with the club and helped them return to the Premier League in the 2022/23 season.
